High Threat Security Alert (A24-02-07): Multiple Vulnerabilities in Fortinet Products

Description:

Fortinet released security advisories to address multiple vulnerabilities in Fortinet systems. An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by sending specially crafted requests to an affected system.

Reports indicate that the remote code execution vulnerabilities (CVE-2024-21762 and CVE-2024-23113) in FortiOS are at a high risk of exploitation. System administrators are advised to take immediate actions to patch your affected systems to mitigate the elevated risk of cyber attacks.

 

Affected Systems:

  • FortiClientEMS version 6.2 (all versions), 6.4 (all versions), 7.0.0 through 7.0.4, 7.0.6 through 7.0.10 and 7.2.0 through 7.2.2
  • FortiNAC version 7.2.0 through 7.2.2, 8.3 (all versions), 8.5 (all versions), 8.6 (all versions), 8.7 (all versions), 8.8 (all versions), 9.1 (all versions), 9.2 (all versions) and 9.4.0 through 9.4.3
  • FortiOS version 6.0 (all versions), 6.2.0 through 6.2.15, 6.4.0 through 6.4.14, 7.0 (all versions), 7.2.0 through 7.2.6 and 7.4.0 through 7.4.2
  • FortiProxy version 7.0 (all versions), 7.2.0 through 7.2.7 and 7.4.0 through 7.4.1

 

Impact:

Successful exploitation of the vulnerabilities could lead to remote code execution, denial of service, information disclosure or spoofing of affected system.

 

Recommendation:

Software updates for affected systems are now available. Administrators of affected systems should follow the recommendations provided by the vendor and take immediate actions to mitigate the risk.
