Year

  • Hong Kong is expediting the development of a digital economy and a smart city. With the increasing adoption of digitalised government services and application of innovation and technology, safeguarding cybersecurity has become a critical component in driving high-quality economic development and constructing a smart city. Throughout the year, the Government Computer Emergency Response Team Hong Kong (GovCERT.HK) has been dedicated to strengthening the cybersecurity defence capability of the Government, as well as public and private organisations. We have also collaborated with stakeholders to promote cybersecurity awareness among the public, jointly creating a secure and stable digital environment. Meanwhile, by deepening cooperation within the Greater Bay Area and cross-boundary collaboration to enhance incident response capabilities, we continue to reinforce the overall cybersecurity resilience of Hong Kong and support its development as a leading international digital and smart city.

GovCERT.HK is an operational member of the Asia Pacific Computer Emergency Response Team (APCERT). APCERT is a coalition of Computer Emergency Response Teams (CERTs) and Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs) within the Asia Pacific region. It maintains a trusted network of cyber security experts in the Asia Pacific region to enhance the region’s vigilance against malicious cyber activities and its overall capability to detect, prevent and mitigate such activities.
